Chatham Saw Mill


The Chatham Saw Mill is one of the oldest in Asia, built on a tiny island and connected to Port Blair by a bridge. The museum by the Forest Department within the Saw Mill compound has provide an insight into forest activities through scale models and display decorative pieces made of Padauk, Marble, Peauma, Gurjan, Satin Wood etc.

How to reach

Regular flights are available from Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata and other major cities to Port Blair. Regular passenger ship services are available to Port Blair from Chennai, Kolkata , Visakhapatnam and it takes around 3-4 days.
