Chittorgarh Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Chittorgarh

Features

Chittorgarh is one of the largest fort of India spread over 700 acres and situated on a high hill near the Gambheri River. This massive fort has marked his own place for bravery and sacrifice of Rajputs. The fort has seven large gates, four palace complexes, many temples and several stepwells and ponds. The major attractions of the fort includes Vijay Stambha, Kirti Stambha, Rana Kumbha Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace Museum, Padmini’s Palace. Every day in the evening a light and sound show about the history of Chittaurgarh is organized in English and Hindi in Rana Kumbha Palace.

Meera Temple, Chittorgarh

Features

Located close to Fateh Prakash Palace, the temple is dedicated to Saint Meerabai, fervent devotee of Lord Krishna. Not only this important pilgrimage of the city, the architecture and structure of the temple are also brilliant. On left side of the temple, a chatri with the footprints of Raidas (Spiritual teacher of mere) is built.
