Napier Museum and Natural History Museum, Thiruvananthapuram


Named after Lord Napier, the Governor of Madras residency, the structure of the museum has its unique ornamentation and architectural style. The museum has rich collection of artistic, cultural and antique items such as bronze and stone sculptures, carvings of wood and ivory, lamps, textiles, handicraft items, traditional musical instruments, numismatic items, paintings and the idols. Natural History Museum located the zoological park complex has superb galleries such as the skeletal, bird, animal and taxidermy gallery. Photography is not allowed in the museum.


10.00 am to 5.00 pm, 1.00 pm to 4.45 pm for Wednesday, Monday Closed

KSRTC buses, private buses, taxis and rikshaws are available for local transportation.

How to reach

Thiruvananthapuram is the international airport and connects to major cities of India as well as outside India. Trivandrum Central railway station is well connected to major cities of India. The city has excellent transport facilities to reach the cities by the road transport.
