Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary, Delhi

Features

Located on northern terminal of Aravalli Hills, Asola Bhatti Sanctuary is popular for weekend natural trails and wildlife break from Delhi. Main attraction of the sanctuary is bird life, butterfly and other mammals. Conservation Education Centre(CEC) in collaboration with the Bombay Natural History Society and Government of NCT Delhi arrange programs for imparting information on Flora Fauna. National Zoological Park (Delhi Zoo), New Delhi

Features

Initially known as Delhi Zoo, National Zoological Park came into existence in 1956 and given the status of the National Zoological Park with the idea of it being the model zoo of the country. Located over 176 acres of land, the zoo has various trees with boards giving descriptions about plant species. The park has over 1000 mammals of around 44 species, around 50 reptiles of 12 species and rich bird life from different part of world. Central Zoo Authority of India has given specific role to the National Zoological Park in conservation breeding of the species like Asiatic lion, royal Bengal tiger, One Horned Rhinoceros, Swamp Deer, Brow-antlered Deer, Red Jungle Fowl. Before visiting the zoo note that no food except milk/infant food is allowed.
