Jharkhand War Memorial, Ranchi

Features

Jharkhand War Memorial is dedicated to the soldiers from Jharkhand who sacrificed their lives for the country from the period before independence to the current updated list. His Excellency, Shri Syed Sibtey Razi, The Governor of Jharkhand at Army Cantonment, Dipatoli inaugurated the memorial on 31 October 2008. Located on the Ranchi-Hazaribagh road, it is the smallest concentration cemetery in India with a total of 708 burials. . The cemetery also has museum with collections of rare traditional weapons, modern weapons and models of Jharkhand's industry and heritage.

Nakshatra Van, Ranchi

Nakshatra Van is a park created by the Jharkhand Forest Department in front of the residence of the governor of Jharkhand. At the central point of the park, big circle is divided into arcs with different trees representing the particular nakshatras in the zodiac.

Rock Garden and Kanke Dam, Ranchi

Features

Located on Gonda Hills, Rock Garden is carved out of hill rocks and resembles its design to rock garden of Jaipur. Adorned with varied sculptures and waterfalls, it is one of the famous weekend picnic spots of the city. Kanke Dam has added to this most visited places of the city. Eatery shops and parking facility is also available inside the park.

Tagore Hill (Morbadi Hill), Ranchi

Features

Tagore hill is 300 foot high and famous for its association with Tagore family. The elder brother of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Jyotirindranath Tagore has built a house(Shantidham) on the hill. It is said that Rabindranath Tagore written had number of books at this place. Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Center of Divyayan and Agrarian Vocational Institute are located at the foot of the hill.
