Bangaram Island Beaches, Lakshadweep


Located close to Agatti and Kavaratti, the teardrop shaped Bangaram island has superb beaches and beautiful lagoons. The coral formation attracts sea creatures like fish-angel, clown, butterfly, surgeon, sweetlip, snappers, sting rays, harmless sharks and green and hawkbill turtles. The bluish glow of the beach during the night is totally enthralling. Non Indians are permitted to visit this island. Drinking liquor only in Bangaram is allowed.

Local Transport

Local boats and helicopter service is available to reach from Agatti island. Within an island, very few options like bicycle are available for transportation.

How to reach

Flights are available from Cochin and Goa to Agatti airport. Passenger Ships are available from Cochin to Lakshadweep. A special permit to visit Lakshadweep can be arranged by local tour operator or can be obtained from the Lakshadweep tourist office in Kochi.

Water Sports & Other facilities

Windsurfing, scuba diving, parasailing, water skiing and snorkelling. Deep-sea fishing is possible on local boats with crew.
