National Adventure Club (India) Chandigarh holds a prominent position among NGO’s in northern India dedicated to the cause of promoting adventure sports among the youth of the country. For the last 20 years it has consistently organized annual All India Adventure Festivals in the first week of February which attract young participants from every part of the country.

The Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering has been made fully operational from January 2009 with all modern equipment and training facilities for adventure sports in Gulmarg. Various adventure courses have been started and are being successfully run by this institute.

The main objective of the association is to provide a national platform for the Paragliding community in India and to promote, develop, control and regulate the sports of Paragliding and Paramotoring. The association arrange paragliding programs and certification courses all over the country.

Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) as an apex national body, has the objective of organising, supporting and providing a base for expeditions for mountaineering, skiing, rock climbing, trekking at high altitudes and to promote, encourage, support and execute schemes for related adventure activities and environmental protection work in the Himalaya.

IMF co-ordinates climbing in the Indian Himalaya, organizes national and international conferences, training / environment-cleaning camps and climbing competitions.

ATOAI works to promote adventure tourism in India and to create awareness overseas about the vast potential of adventure tourism in India.

ABVIMAS of Himachal Pradesh Government is the largest Adventure Sports training centre in the country and has nine sub centers all over the state for promotion of Adventure Tourism.

The Yachting Association of India (http://www.yai.org.in)

The Yachting Association of India (YAI) is officially recognised by the Indian Olympic Association and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India as the governing authority for sailing, windsurfing, motor boating, powerboat racing and personal watercraft, at sea and on inland waters in India. YAI is responsible for promoting the sport in the country, developing and training of judges, umpires and other administrators of the sport and representing the sailors in all matters concerning the sport.
