Chitrakoot Falls, Jagdalpur


Situated in the Vindhya ranges, Chitrakoot Falls is the largest waterfall of India and also called as "The Niagara Falls of India". Formed by the Indravati River, the waterfall has the height of about 100 foot. The girth of the waterfall varies as per the season and turns wild during monsoon season. The waterfall is located in dense forest area so it is also famous picnic spot blessed with greenery of nature.


Best Season after monsoon August to October, If you want visit calm and white waterfall, it is better to visit between November to February.

Buses and taxis are available from Jagdalpur to reach waterfall.

Nearest airport is Swami Vivekananda Airport at Raipur with 275 km. Nearest railway station is Jagdalpur with 40 km. State transport buses, private buses/vehicles are available from other cities.
