WILDLIFE SANCTUARIES, ZOOS AND BOTANICAL GARDENS IN KARNATAKA


Karnataka has 5 National Parks and 22 Wildlife Sanctuaries covering an area of 6576.76 square km which forms nearly 15.17% of the total forest area as protected area. The western ghat range of the state is known for the biodiversity hotspot. Further, the forests support 20% of the elephant population and 10% of the tiger population of India.
