Features

Part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and Project Elephant Reserve, Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary and Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary are the important forest reserves of the Wayanad sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to the large number of elephants and other wild life species like tiger, panthers, langurs, bonnet macaques, bison, monkeys, sambar, Malabar squirrel, bear etc. The sanctuary is famous for natural scenic beauty, eco tourism and adventure tourism arranged by the forest department.

How to reach

Nearest airport is Karipur International Airport with 120 km. Nearest railway station is Kozhikode with 100 km. It is better to hire private vehicle from Sulthan Bathery, Kozhikode and other cities.
