Govinda Dev Temple, Vrindavan

Features

The temple is located in the very centre of town, on the main Mathura-Vrindavan road and is locally called "Govindaji".The red stone temple of Govind Devji was built during 16th century by Raja Man Singh from Amber. Originally the temple has seven storied building, it's four upper stories were destroyed during the reign of Aurangzeb. The idol of Krishna was shifted to Jaipur. The temple is superb specimen of architecture excellence of that time.

Kesava Deo Temple, Mathura

Features

Kesava Deo Temple is situated adjacent to temple complex of Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple. This ancient temple is believed to mark the spot where Lord Krishna was born and has seen many destructions and constructions over a period of time. The original temple of Kesava Deo Temple was destroyed by Mughal Emperor and built Katra Masjid.

Radha Ballabh Temple, Vrindavan

Features

The original Radha Ballabh temple was built in 1626 by a Bengali devotee named Sundara Das and demolished during reign of Aurangajeb. The present temple was built around 1872. Here is no deity of Goddess Radha instead a crown is placed next to the Shri Krishna image in the sanctum and is used for Radha’s worship.

Rang Ji Temple of Vrindavan was built by Seth Govind Das ji & Seth Laxmi Chand Ji in 1851. Dedicated to Lord Ranganatha (Lord Vishnu in sheshashayi form), the temple has south Indian style of architecture. It has tall gopuram in Rajput style, Dhweja Stambha, main temple enclosed with large garden and water tank.

Shahji Temple, Vrindavan

Shahji Temple of Vrindavan was built by Shah Kundan Lal and Shah Phundan Lal during 1860 to 1870. The temple is built of entirely marble stone with blend of Greek, Mughal and Hindu architectures. It is well known for its outstanding architecture, design and twelve spiral columns carved from one single piece of Italian marble. Also famous Basanti Kamra, also known as Rituraj Bhavan, makes astonished for its ceiling and the wall paintings, Belgium glass chandeliers and carved fountain blocks.

Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, Mathura
