Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple built by the erstwhile kings of Travancore and is one important pilgrimage of Kerala. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, It is one of 108 sacred Divya Desams (Vishnu temples) as mentioned in the works of the Tamil Azhvars. The capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram derives its name from Padmanabhaswamy Temple (Thiru + Anantha + Puram= Abode of Lord Anantha Padmanabha). Please note that only Hindus are permitted inside the temple with strict dress code.
