Sawantwadi Vengurla Tourism Guide

Sawantwadi and Vengurla are two talukas of the Sindhudurg district of Kokan region. The region is formed of hills with lush green foliage mainly of cashew, mango, coconut, and different kinds of berry trees. Sawantwadi was formerly the capital of the Kingdom of Sawantwadi, ruled by the Bhonsle royal clan of the Marathas. The major tourist places of Sawantwadi are Amboli, Sawantwadi Palace, Sawantwadi lake and also famous for crafted wooden industry. Vengurla is located at 30 km from Sawantwadi and well known for its beautiful beaches.

The temple is 500 years old and has four sections of Main Internal Sanctum, External Sanctum, Internal court hall, external Hall. The Annual festival is celebrated on occasion of Tripuri Pornima in month of Kartik (November).
