Jama Masjid, Srinagar

Features

Jama Masjid is biggest and oldest masjid in Kashmir. The masjid was built by Sultan Sikandar in 1400 AD and extended by his son, Zain-ul- Abidin and later repaired by Maharaja Pratap Singh. Built in Indo-Saracenic style, it is supported by 370 wooden pillars around a courtyard.

Pari Mahal, Srinagar

Features

Pari Mahal (Fairies' Abode) is located at the top of Zabarwan mountain range near Dal Lake. The seven terrace garden was built by Prince Dara Shikoh during the mid of 16th century on the ruins of Buddhist monastery for his tutor. The uniqueness of the garden is that it has observatory for astrology.

Sri Pratap Singh Museum (SPS Museum), Srinagar

Features

Sri Pratap Singh Museum is the showcase of rich culture and traditions of the regions of Jammu, Kashmir, Gilgit and Baltistan. Located in Lal Mandi area, the historical museum was built by Maharaja Pratap Singh in 1889. An ancient copper image of Lord Buddha of 5th century, brass statue of Lokeshvara and green stone structures of Lord Vishnu sitting on Garuda are important collections of the museum.
