Adalaj stepwell, Gandhinagar

Features

The stepwell was built in 1499 by Queen Rudabai, wife of the Vaghela chief, Veersinh. Built in Indo-Islamic architectural style, the Adlaj stepwell is five stories deep with carved large number of pillars. The remarkable feature of the wall is fine carved walls in Indo-Islamic architecture and design and three entrance stairs.
