Champaner-Pavagadh (UNESCO World Heritage Site), Vadodara


Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park is located in the surrounding area of Champaner city which was built by Sultan Mahmud Begada. The Archaeological site has fort, palaces, entrance gates, arches, mosques, tombs, temples, stepwells and tanks etc. dating from the 8th to the 14th centuries. However the main attraction of the site is the architecture of the mosques at the base of Pavangadh hills. If you are religious person, visit the Kalika Mata Temple at the top of Pavangadh hills and attracts large number of pilgrims during the year.

Nearest Airport is Vadodara Airport. Nearest railway station is Jarod Railway station with around 36 km, but Nearest Major Railway station is Vadodara. It is better to hire private vehicle from Vadodara.
