Sanjan, Daman


Sanjan is believed to have been founded by Zoroastrian refugees (today known as Parsis) sought asylum in Gujarat. The excavations and explorations at Sanjan yielded proof of Parsi occupation at Sanjan and also art and cultural forms of Parsis as well as Hindus. Sanjan Stambh is a memorial column to welcome the arrival of Zoroastrians six centuries ago.

Nearest Airport is at Surat airport. Nearest railway station is Sanjan. Buses, autorikshaws and private vehicles are available from Vapi and other nearby cities.
