Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is located among other sanctuaries such as Eravikulam National Park to the south side, Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary to the north and Kodaikanal Wildlife Sanctuary to the east. The uniqueness of Chinnar sanctuary is the conservation centre for the endangered Giant Grizzled Squirrel of India. Also many other rare and endangered species of animal and plant are found in Chinnar. The Sandalwood forest located nearby is another attraction at Chinnar. It is also popular for trekking and eco-tourism.
