Kanha National Park, Jabalpur

Features

Kanha Tiger Reserve is nested in the Maikal Hills of the Satpura range spreading over Mandla district and Balaghat district. The important animal of Kanha is the Central Indian Barasingha (Swamp Deer) which can be easily spotted in the park. Other common animals found in the reserve are leopard, Spotted deer, Sambar, Wild pigs, Grey langur and more than 300 species of birds.

Timing

The park shall be closed during 1st July to 15 October. Safari Timings : Winter -07.30 am, 3.00 pm, Summer- 06.30 am, 4.00 pm, Best Period- November to February

How to reach

Nearest airport is Nagpur with 280 km. Nearest railway station is Jabalpur with 150 km and Gondia with 150 km. State transport buses are available from Jabalpur but it is better to hire private vehicle from Jabalpur and other cities.
