Nagzira Wild Life Sanctuary, Gondia


Nagzira Wild Life Sanctuary is one of the better maintained sanctuaries of the state and has watch towers/cabins for the tourists. The sanctuary has 34 species of mammals, 166 species of birds, 36 species of reptiles and four species of amphibians. Wild animals to spot are the tiger, panther, bison, sambar, nilgai, chital, wild boar, sloth bear and wild dog. Nearby attractions around the sanctuary are famous Hajra falls and Nagra Shiv temple.

How to reach

Nearest Airport is at Nagpur. Nearest railway station is Gondia. MSRTC buses are available from Gondia to Sakoli which is 22 km away on National Highway No. 6. It is better to hire private vehicle from Gondia or Nagpur.


50 km from Gondia, 150 km from Nagpur City, 223 km from Wardha, 185 km from Raipur.
