Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary, Niphad


Spread over 1000 hectares of land, Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary has more than 220 species of residents and migratory birds. Apart from birds, the sanctuary has 24 species of fish and other small mammals are spotted. The birds of the sanctuary includes black ibis, spot bills, teals, little grebe, cormorants, egrets, herons, stork, kites, vultures, white stork, glossy ibis, spoonbills, flamingo, goose brahminy duck, pintails, cranes shanks, godwits, weavers etc.

Local Transport

MSRTC buses are available from Sinnar to Manjargaon. It is preferable to take private vehicle as transport facilities are not good.

Nearest airport is Aurangabad with 180 km. Nearest small railway station is Niphad with 12 km.
